Yes, you can have fun on-road with the Baja Rey, but there are other trucks in the Losi line-up (like the SCTE 2.0) that do a much better job. When you look over the truck and see just how overbuilt some areas are, you gotta appreciate they are looking out for the hardcore bashing crowd. While the rear can step out when pounding deep whoops WFO, for the most part the Losi is big enough to ignore most “normal” sized bumps. While one of the front shocks was a bit low on oil, the others were properly filled and not leaking. The Super Baja Rey suffered no damage! I mean, think about it, jumping a heavy 1/6th scale vehicle from the roof of a 3 story building is sure to destroy it, right? Broken Parts: Ya know, we think the Losi crew that was out watching us test might think we’ve lost all our marbles. While on the servo topic, the stock servo saver was wayyyy too weak. The way we tested the Super Baja Rey was much different than our normal test routine. On many 4WDs we rarely use it, but found it really handy on the Baja Rey. The Losi® Ford Raptor Baja Rey® is the most authentic looking Desert Truck on the market with the performance and durability of a race vehicle. It took all sorts of stupidity to break it, making it arguably the toughest large scale vehicle that we’ve tested. This exciting new radio control truck boasts a lot of the same features as the Super Rock rey, just in 1/10 form. The Super has a lot of weight over the front, this helps keep the front tires glued to the ground while cornering. Time To Bash: B It didn’t take us long to get the Losi up and running. Also, there is also a lot of actual rubber on the tires which allowed them to last forever. This is a Brushless 4×4 off-road RC Truck and is meant for off-road bashing, And that’s just what I plan to do with it. LOL. I have a 1/5th scale HP Baja 5b w/ 30.5cc, 2-speed CVT, a Traxxas Ultimate Desert Racer w/a VLX-8s ESC and lots of mods, and then most recently this bind & drive Losi Super Baja Rey. The Losi tended to ignore all but the worst of kickers and ruts on jumps faces, mostly thanks to its large size, and its suspension did an admirable job of soaking up landings. That, in our eyes, is a solid value. Yes, we were extra hard on the Losi, but that was because we HAD to be. Build Quality: We found the Baja Rey to be well assembled from the factory.
